This month James P. Wagner (Ishwa) and Nick Hale of Local Gems Press will be welcoming Paul Richmond of Human Error Publishing.

The topic of this seminar will be creating opportunities with poetry.

Paul had the distinction of being a former National Beat Poet Laureate of the USA. In addition, he has a long track record of creating poetry events where one wouldn't normally consider poetry to be a natural fit! Including a word stage at a Garlic Festival which has run for the last 10 years.

Finding Opportunities for Poetry

There are a lot of well-oiled principles when it comes to finding poetry venues, booking reading, etc. But there are a ton of opportunities that no one is pursuing and as such, your odds of making them work might be a lot higher than you would think!

Locating Venues

Sometimes it is all about finding the right spot. The hosts and the guest will discuss their experience creating reading series, finding venues for one off events or even festivals and conventions.
