Creating Opportunities With Poetry
Wed November 15th, 9:00PM EST
Welcome to the Master Bards Main Stage. This month James P. Wagner (Ishwa) and Nick Hale of Local Gems Press will be welcoming Paul Richmond of Human Error Publishing. The topic of this seminar will be creating opportunities with poetry. Paul had the distinction of being a former National Beat Poet Laureate of the USA. In addition, he has a long track record of creating poetry events where one wouldn't normally consider poetry to be a natural fit! Including a word stage at a Garlic Festival which has run for the last 10 years. |
Points of Discussion:
Finding Opportunities for Poetry
There are a lot of well-oiled principles when it comes to finding poetry venues, booking reading, etc. But there are a ton of opportunities that no one is pursuing and as such, your odds of making them work might be a lot higher than you would think!
Locating Venues
Sometimes it is all about finding the right spot. The hosts and the guest will discuss their experience creating reading series, finding venues for one off events or even festivals and conventions.
Building a Reputation and a Network
Learn all about how building a reputation can lead to new opportunities that you weren't even looking for, and create options you weren't even considering.
And More...
How It Works:
You register for the seminar and are given a link to the zoom event.
The publishers of Local Gems and Paul Richmond will go live at the set time, first for a conversation and talk between them, and then the floor will be open for a question and answer session.
The link to the zoom seminar will be sent to your email several hours before we go live.
Contact [email protected] if there are any problems.

What If I Can't Make The Time?
Got something the time of the live broadcast? The benefits of being virtual is flexibility. The sessions are recorded and sent to all those who register, so you can still benefit from the recordings even if you can't be there live! You can also email in questions you want answered.
